Helpful Tips for a Stress-Free Move...
1. Be fully packed, meaning all items that can be boxed should be boxed, including all fragile items and loose articles, contents of kitchen, bedrooms, living room, cabinets, wall units, bookcases, credenzas, desks, entertainment centers, closet, pictures, lamps, lamp shades, art objects, linen closets and/or shelves, small glass, end table and end table glass tops or display cabinet glass shelves, computer, and computer components, DVD players, VCRs, and stereo equipment. Being unprepared and less than fully packed takes more time, and costs you more money.
2. Never underestimate the task at hand and overestimate your ability to accomplish it; have a realistic view as to the nature and scope of your move; do not wait until the last possible moment to begin preparation, including packing and the resolution of a myriad of issues that arise before and on the day of your move.
3. Beware of those movers with the cheapest hourly rates that provide unrealistic phone quotes. They are usually not the least expensive overall. Consult with several movers before deciding on which moving service to use; you get what you pay for.
4. Schedule your move first thing in the morning from 7 to 9 am. Consequently, yours will be the first move of the day; you will receive a fresh crew, and the movers will not be late.
